I’ve always wanted to go to Rome, the Eternal City.
For many, partly very personal reasons. But every time something came up.
Lack of time or just the lack of courage.
But after too many things went wrong, I just sat down and booked. Within a few clicks I saved the flight and also an accommodation in direct proximity to the Vatican.
And the next morning I started. Two and a half days to Rome. Not enough for this city, but at least a beginning.
Happy to have friends everywhere one of them told me what to look at in the short time.
Of course the Basilica San Pietro, the Musei Vaticani, the Ponte Sant’Angelo and also the Fontana di Trevi.
After I loaded the map onto my phone, I started walking. Criss-crossing the streets to get from one point to the next.
Of course I could have taken the Metro or the bus.
Then, however, many details would have been withheld from me. Details that sometimes interest me more than the main attractions.
Cause I am not the typical tourist. That shows up again and again.
And that is the reason why you will not find the typical photographs in my posts.
